What do these sun-drenched sanctuaries of souvlaki share? They typically transport you from the Florida Keys to the Aegean for $50-$150 per person, serve more meze than you can count on both hands, and, at their finest, make you want to pen an ode to every olive in the grove. While Key West offers countless spots with both small plates and entrees, we’re focusing on those Mediterranean havens that do it all exceptionally well.
Salute! On The Beach
$$ | (305) 292-1117 | WEBSITE

Salute! On The Beach’s seaside take on Mediterranean fare brings a fresh, laidback vibe to Key West dining. The menu goes beyond the expected with their renowned mussels, grouper/shrimp cake, and conch chowder. But our favorite part is the yellowtail snapper salad—cool and tasty, perfect for a hot afternoon. The latter comes with perfect outdoor seating and pairs wonderfully with their key lime martini.
The beachfront setting with stunning decor is great for a fun solo meal or date, but they also have flexible service if you want to enjoy a shrimp sandwich with salad while taking in gorgeous views. The margarita was also not bad.
Olives Mediterranean Grill Key West
$$ | (305) 407-5191 | WEBSITE

Olives Mediterranean Grill Key West is a spot a few blocks from the main area for a relaxed but still authentic casual meal. There’s a quaint atmosphere that feels like home, the service is super friendly, and the Mediterranean menu is full of terrific flavors the owner Ozzie is proud of. It’s around $15-25 per entree, but lunch here is almost all perfect for a quick bite. This means that unless you’re planning a huge feast, you’ll probably be satisfied by the end.
If that’s the case, just order the Pistachio Baklava before exploring Fort Zachary Taylor State Park.
Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine

Spending what feels like a week’s grocery budget on one meal might seem indulgent. But the quality of ingredients in every authentic dish at Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine is so remarkable, you’ll never question the value. The menu offers consistent variety, but always includes tender cuts of lamb, calamari that’s expertly fried to golden perfection, and creative Mediterranean dishes like ricotta and mozzarella pizza, topped with another layer of flavor.
Before you finish your dessert, you’ll be planning your next special occasion visit.
Pasha’s Garden
$$ | (305) 292-1991 | WEBSITE

Pasha’s Garden in Key West is the island’s most charming Mediterranean experience, and it’s a delight. Waiters hand-feed you hummus while string lights twinkle above the tree-lined patio. Friendly banter and puffs of grilled meat smoke are commonplace. And the kicker: unlimited wine refills (yes, you read that correctly) throughout the meal, as staff keep your glass full and ensure your table stays happy.
Service aside, the food holds up, with flavorful dishes like fresh appetizers and juicy grilled meats. Some larger parties might find the auto-gratuity policy unclear rather than transparent, but they won’t spoil the fun. Like the repeat customers who’ve been coming for over 20 years remind you: you’re here to enjoy your dinner.
Mam’s Best Food
$ | (305) 896-0923 | WEBSITE

This spot is from the same owner as Mam’s original kitchen, and serves up delicious Mediterranean soul food like kabab, spicy tuna sandwiches, and falafel wraps with homemade pita and hummus. Compared to the other tiny eateries in Key West, Mam’s is one of the most charming—it seats maybe 10 people, with a few stools at the counter and the rest at small tables, and a meal here is quick—about 30 minutes. Plan on a very affordable and delightful experience.
It’s also worth noting that they’re closed Fridays and Saturdays for religious reasons if you prefer to visit during the week.
Azur Restaurant
$$$ | (305) 292-2987 | WEBSITE

This 40-seat, Mediterranean-focused spot in Key West is the best bite-per-dollar upscale dining in Florida. Their dinner menu has the same hyper-detailed culinary excellence as its more formal, $120-a-plate competitors, but without needing a pre-visit reservation scramble. Expert preparation transforms eggplant into crispy, golden-brown chips that shatter delightfully.
Fresh seafood like charred Pulpo is elevated with varying spice levels to complement the ribeye steak or golden tile fish served alongside. But despite their serious approach, Azur’s personable staff will also chat with you about wine or favorite dishes. It’s perfect for gourmet obsessives and casual diners alike.
Kennedy Cafe
$ | (305) 809-9000 | WEBSITE

Kennedy Cafe is a consistently delightful Mediterranean spot in Key West. It’s also more or less an unimpressive storefront with a basic setup, tucked away in a casual Florida strip. So, no, it’s not the best option if you want memorable ambiance with your meal. But the food is worth it if your dining experience is more about excellent gyros, omelets that practically melt in your mouth, and pilaf with chicken and lamb that beats comfort food at its own game.
Come here for a low-key experience with personable staff who will engage with you and ensure you have a memorable time, all while serving generous portions at affordable prices—the Turkish breakfast alone is a hidden gem.
