Commerce locals will passionately debate the best spot for a Friday fish fry, whether the new brewery’s pretzels are worth the hype, or which diner serves the perfect patty melt. But nothing stirs up more spirited discussion than ranking the town’s top dining destinations—a debate we’ve settled with this definitive 2026 list.
Aurora On The Lake
$$$ | (248) 360-6650 | WEBSITE

Right on the shores of the lake, Aurora On The Lake offers a delightful dining experience with outstanding service and amazing food. This is a wonderful place to go for a relaxed evening when you just want somewhere comfortable and inviting to enjoy a meal with easy conversation. The attentive staff, including the valet crew, ensures a smooth evening from start to finish.
There’s also a good chance you’ll hear guests praising the perfectly balanced Chicken piccata or the melt-in-your-mouth Short Rib on any given night.
BIGGBY COFFEE
$ | (248) 301-5113 | WEBSITE

This Commerce gem is part coffee shop and part breakfast spot with a cozy decor, lots of warm lighting, and a heavy reliance on comfort and customer service—all in a welcoming neighborhood setting. But that doesn’t mean that visiting here is all atmosphere and no substance. Instead, you can expect to get tasty renditions of coffee shop classics, like hot coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and everything bagels with cream cheese.
Just don’t be surprised when you also find the staff remembering your name or the management checking in to make sure everything is perfect.
Quiznos
$ | (248) 669-4267 | WEBSITE

In the space that likely housed a fast-food chain in a previous incarnation right off the main Commerce strip, Quiznos is straightforward sandwich excellence at its finest. The subs come in just about every variety—including a combo option if you can’t choose between the classic Italian, tangy turkey ranch, or a more savory steakhouse melt—and the toasted bread comes out warmer than a Michigan winter day demands.
And even though their location in a standard strip mall might not sound remarkable, it makes for a really convenient stop on the way home from errands.
Princess Grill of Commerce
$ | (248) 624-5600 | WEBSITE

A Middle Eastern staple that’s been around for years, Princess Grill of Commerce is not a fancy spot by any means—the whole place kind of feels like it’s being held together by takeout orders and the glow of the heat lamps. But there are two cozy dining areas and a small, comfortable counter populated by some regulars who have very good taste.
While Princess Grill is open for lunch and dinner, our favorite time to go is during the dinner rush for the enormous chicken tikka and shawarma combos or plates like the generous portions with that addictive garlic sauce.
Kickstand Brewing Company
$ | (248) 301-5941 | WEBSITE

Kickstand Brewing Company embraces the classic, unpretentious spirit of what it means to be a neighborhood brewery, and that’s exactly why it works so well. Don’t expect to have a transcendent culinary revelation after trying their chicken tenders (and if fried food has ever changed your worldview, we’d love to hear about it). Instead, expect a broad menu of reliable pub fare that serves equally well as satisfying comfort food and the perfect companion to one too many excellent craft beers.
Presotea Commerce Township
$ | WEBSITE

We often stop by Presotea Commerce Township for an afternoon pick-me-up because of the great bubble tea with fresh boba and the classic milk tea, as well as a straightforward menu of fruity flavors and nearly every refreshing drink imaginable. When we’re feeling particularly indecisive, we’ve come to rely on the smoothies menu with more out of the ordinary blends, like a mango smoothie that combines tropical fruit, creamy texture, and just the right sweetness.
Benstein Grille
$$ | (248) 624-4100 | WEBSITE

Benstein Grille is home to some of the best filet mignon in town, and that alone makes it worth a visit at any time of the day. (But not in the evenings—it can get crowded and loud.) Get the filet mignon medium rare and they’ll serve it perfectly cooked with Gorgonzola added on top. It’s been around for years, amassing a following of regulars and newcomers alike. Show up during prime dinner hours on the weekends, and you’ll inevitably find a wait.
But when you do finally get to taste their shoreline chicken or ahi tuna rice cakes, any standing-around time will be rewarded.
Lulu’s of Commerce
$ | (248) 669-1937 | WEBSITE

Breakfast is the star of the show at Lulu’s of Commerce, so much so that the morning menu feels like its own culinary universe. You can keep it classic with the Farmers omelette or eggs benny, venture into hearty territory with the Vics Omelet featuring broccoli, chicken, and cheese, or go all out with the corned beef and homestyle potatoes that regulars swear by.
Whatever you decide on, it’ll come out in generous, fresh portions, with that welcoming atmosphere and a ticket to the daily specials board where you can discover gems like the spinach pie on Wednesdays, like a food lover uncovering hidden treasure. There’s just one location in Commerce, recently renovated to enhance its clean, friendly environment where servers provide excellent service until closing at 3:00 pm.
Great Harvest Bread Co.
$$ | (248) 926-9848 | WEBSITE

You go to Great Harvest Bread Co. when you want a bakery with almost a dozen different bread options, and some high-quality samples to go with it. Which means they have both heavy artisanal loaves and special-order breads available. There’s a warm, inviting atmosphere in a relatively busy part of Commerce, and all of the bread—from the free samples to the custom orders to one of our favorite authentic loaves in town—is consistently real.
A’Fondant
$$ | (248) 669-9800 | WEBSITE

Operating as a dedicated dessert destination since its opening, A’Fondant stands out as one of the few places in Commerce where you can settle into a cozy corner with a perfectly balanced strawberry shortcake (that’s as delightful as it looks) and savor a cream puff filled with just the right amount of sweetness.
Stepping into A’Fondant feels almost like entering a pastry shop’s inner sanctum—it’s warmly lit and inviting inside—and there are usually a few regulars at the counter who look like they’ve been coming here since the first batch of chocolate cake was served.
