Leamington has roughly two dining moods: ‘Let’s stay cozy inside’ and ‘Let’s soak up every sunbeam.’ But sometimes, even when the lakeside breeze whispers of autumn, you still crave a meal with a view. At the spots on this list, which all offer inviting patios or charming window seats, that’s not only possible—it’s encouraged. You won’t even need to trade flavor for atmosphere.
Arby’s
$ | (519) 322-2201 | WEBSITE

If you’re looking for a reliable spot in Leamington, Arby’s is always an option. This clean, well-maintained restaurant feels a little more upscale than your typical fast food joint. And that can be a good thing, if you’re in the mood for reasonably priced comfort food and standout pastries. The blueberry turnover here is a must-try, but no matter what you order, you’ll be satisfied thanks to the helpful staff and spotless dining area.
La Taberna
$ | (519) 398-8993 | WEBSITE

This neighborhood bar is no ordinary watering hole. La Taberna serves cheap but cheerful drinks in Leamington but doesn’t let you forget you’re in a cozy local spot either. The quiet street location provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, perfect for a pre-dinner drink. Outside, attentive staff go the extra mile with cushions for outdoor seating to ensure customers feel comfortable.
And no visit to La Taberna is complete without the drink you almost don’t even have to ask for: a lovely red wine that makes you feel like a local.
241 Pizza
$ | (519) 324-9241 | WEBSITE

241 Pizza feels like it could be plucked straight from a bustling Toronto street corner and dropped into Leamington. This family-friendly spot serves up quality pies at prices that won’t break the bank, just like its counterparts in the big city. That means you can enjoy a satisfying meal here without emptying your wallet. The atmosphere is genuinely welcoming, with the super friendly owner and staff making everyone feel right at home—service dogs included.
If you’re looking for a reliable pizza joint where the slices are consistently delicious and the service always comes with a smile, this is your place.
GingerBread House
$ | (519) 326-5343 | WEBSITE

Not only does GingerBread House have one of the best breakfasts in Leamington—fresh, flavorful, and delicious with large portions—but it’s cozy enough to feel like you’re eating in your own kitchen. The restaurant is located in a bright, welcoming space and is completely comfortable, which is good because this is mostly a morning spot. To sit inside, have great coffee, and enjoy the friendly, attentive service is really why you should come here.
But the food (mostly classic breakfast choices and lunch offerings) is outstanding.
Antonino’s Original Pizza— Leamington
$ | (519) 322-1098 | WEBSITE

Antonino’s Original Pizza is located in a straightforward storefront in Leamington. And the pizza is definitely the main attraction (the ambiance isn’t quite as impressive). The bulk of the seating is at simple tables indoors, and the ones that aren’t usually have a view of the kitchen activity to remind you of the food being made. Stick to the classic pizzas or simple stuff like a medium cheese.
This is a local pizza joint in a small Ontario town (a popular one, nonetheless) so be prepared for that medium pizza to be around $20. The staff, like Kaylee, provides helpful and courteous service, and the atmosphere is friendly, making it a recommended spot for a satisfying slice with a crunchy crust and plentiful toppings.
El Mercadito
$ | (226) 402-7890 | WEBSITE

Not every single customer at El Mercadito finds arepas in stock—but the majority of the dishes at this Colombian coffee shop (as well as the entire breakfast menu) are made with wonderful fresh and local produce. And you can still enjoy the awesome coffee from those hard-to-find tables, too. El Mercadito is a sort of hybrid between a community hub and a casual coffee spot.
We like their breakfast and pretty much anything that involves the word “iced.” There are also a ton of warm, homey touches, and chances are they’re serving whatever drink you want to try.
Sonia’s catering
$ | (519) 999-5421 | WEBSITE

Sonia’s Catering is a Leamington staple, where there’s almost always a line of locals waiting to pick up gorditas, empanadas, and more. If you don’t feel like waiting in that line, step inside, order at the counter, and eat your food there. They have a great little cozy setup that’s so much less stressful than taking it to go, and a perfect place to dig into some empanadas while enjoying the inviting atmosphere.
Burgess Refreshments
$ | (519) 326-4639 | WEBSITE

Burgess Refreshments is always one of the first places we recommend for eating near the water in Leamington. The reason: this place is great, in so many ways. The classic menu—with options like hot dogs, wraps, sundaes, and more—never disappoints. Plus, their waterfront location is so lovely. The beachside eatery looks like it got plucked from a 1950s postcard and set down by the lake, Norman Rockwell–style.
And thanks to generous portions, friendly staff, and quick service, it’s possible to enjoy a full meal here without breaking the bank.
Bella’s Bite
$ | WEBSITE

Bella’s Bite’s interior makes you feel like you’re stepping into a cozy neighborhood joint. But its counter service is what we’d imagine being inside that joint’s bustling kitchen (of course it has one) is like. It’s completely open, surrounded by sizzling grills, and cooled by industrial fans. To protect you from the wait, the casual eatery has quick-moving staff for when the line gets long or one of Leamington’s spontaneous cravings hits.
Since the service makes it easy to grab food on the go, try their smash burger tacos or perch tacos with flavors worthy of noting in a food lover’s journal.
Crazy Chicken
$$ | (519) 991-4045 | WEBSITE

Since opening, this spot has been the best place for tacos in Leamington, where you can enjoy a clean and beautiful atmosphere over the course of lunch or dinner. And after all this time, it’s still a good choice because it’s tasty, simple, and wonderfully unpretentious. The budget-friendly prices (our favorite part of the experience) provide excellent value on a day when you want authentic Mexican food without breaking the bank.
Start with some tacos, listen closely to the staff’s recommendations, and if you arrive close to closing time, you’ll still get excellent service.
Swiss Chalet
$ | (226) 216-2499 | WEBSITE

The only seating at this Canadian spot in Leamington is indoors. Your two choices are in a booth or at a table near the kitchen window. Both have good lighting, and the booth has a slightly cozier feel. But if you sit at a table by the window, you’ll have a view of the dining area—where there’s an occasional family celebration and children color happily at their seats.
If it’s one of those days where you crave something hearty, cool down with a plate of the Ultra Fantastic Triple Pickle Poutine—crispy fries, cheese curds, gravy, and those signature pickles.
Mi Guanaquita
$ | (519) 398-8110 | WEBSITE

Mi Guanaquita is a cozy Salvadoran spot tucked away in the land of friendly Ontario towns known as Leamington. While we really enjoy Mi Guanaquita’s dining room—which feels like eating inside a warm, welcoming kitchen—the overall atmosphere is every bit as charming. It has simple wooden tables and colorful decor that make you feel like you’re exploring a new culture even if you’ve lived here forever.
It’s all inside a wheelchair-accessible space too, which accommodates just about every guest with ease and comfort. It’s a perfect setting to enjoy some solid pupusas, birria tacos, or a Mixed Fajita with shrimp, chicken, and meat while you try not to think too hard about the fact that the generous portions make every dollar feel well spent.
Cancunsito mexican cuisine
$$ | (519) 325-9031 | WEBSITE

Cancunsito Mexican Cuisine feels like the cool aunt’s kitchen where everyone gathered for weekend feasts. But unlike your Tía Rosa’s cramped apartment (which was always too hot and smelled of burnt beans) it has a dining room that’s a bright delight. Here, you can slide into a booth with friends under the cheerful lighting and swap work stories while sharing generous plates with flavor—like beef gorditas and shrimp tacos.
Watch the sauces glisten on the chips in contentment after polishing off chicken enchiladas Rojas. Then dare each to try the Birria tacos next time, which are authentic by the way.
