Our Maryland team has been eating its way through Oxon Hill’s dining scene, revisiting classics and scouting new openings. After countless meals, we’ve compiled the definitive list of 16 standout restaurants that deserve your immediate attention in 2026.
Deli Express Factory
$ | (301) 296-2967 | WEBSITE

We couldn’t put it off any longer—we’re compiling a list of the best chicken sandwiches in Oxon Hill, because someone’s got to do it, and the chicken sandwich from Deli Express Factory absolutely makes the cut. It’s juicier than it looks, with a satisfying, scrumptious quality that can only come from fresh chicken breast. At lunch, you can get it with a side of homemade potato salad and a generous sub for $22.
PrimoHoagies
$ | (301) 800-0154 | WEBSITE

Hoagie enthusiasts, head straight to PrimoHoagies, a welcoming eatery in Oxon Hill where they craft their steak and cheese with fresh, flavorful meats and soft, great bread. Though simple and comforting, the hoagie delivers a satisfying, filling experience too. In a smart pairing, the sandwich comes with tasty primo chips for a meal with so many different layers of texture and flavor.
Silver Diner
$$ | (301) 485-7100 | WEBSITE

Silver Diner is such a fun, classic spot that the food at this National Harbor institution could be completely average and it’d still occupy a special place in our increasingly breakfast-focused hearts. And yet, just about everything we’ve tried here is actually pretty great. Like these generously bacon-topped scrambled eggs, which manage to stay far fluffier than you think they could. Pairs great with large quantities of coffee.
Captain White Seafood City
$ | (202) 554-5520 | WEBSITE

Captain White Seafood City is still around, and, on your average weekday, the place is still bustling. We know exactly why that is. A lot of the fresh seafood we tried during a recent check-in at this Oxon Hill spot—open for years—was great, but unremarkable. The top-quality crabs, on the other hand, are still a smash, with steamed and seasoned meat that collapses into a perfect pile.
Brother Jimmy’s BBQ
$$ | (301) 909-8860 | WEBSITE

When you visit Brother Jimmy’s BBQ next to the harbor, your first move should be to order as much barbecue as you can handle. But don’t skip the sides. On a recent trip to the lively barbecue joint, the cornbread was a highlight—moist and sweet with honey, tasting more like dessert than bread. The generous meat portions had that authentic smoky flavor, and the creamy mac and cheese felt like home.
While the catfish sometimes misses the mark with seasoning, and service can slow when it’s busy, the friendly staff and fun atmosphere with games for kids make it a solid choice for a satisfying meal at reasonable prices.
Henry’s Soul Cafe
$ | (301) 749-6856 | WEBSITE

The only thing better than a Sunday afternoon spent with family, the kind that calls for comfort food, is the trip to Henry’s Soul Cafe that happens afterwards. Get a couple different dishes—we especially like the hot turkey wings with stuffing and the nostalgic sweet potato pie—make a beeline for the cozy dining room, and then enjoy them while the friendly staff keeps your sweet tea refilled.
Sardi’s Pollo A La Brasa
$ | (301) 747-4372 | WEBSITE

Sardi’s Pollo A La Brasa is no stranger to this series. New to their Peruvian menu, the chicken fried rice put an end to all conversation at our table for a good few minutes. The moist pork chops are bright with flavor, and the juicy chicken has a nice char. The empanadas on the side, stuffed with savory fillings, are a perfect dunker.
Silvestre Chicken
$ | (301) 485-5873 | WEBSITE

Silvestre Chicken in Oxon Hill is serving up some of the best, most satisfying whole chickens we’ve had in years. Expertly roasted with crispy skin and juicy meat, it comes with fresh, vibrant sides that make each bite as memorable as the last. It’s the kind of meal that keeps you coming back for more.
Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings
$ | (301) 567-7888 | WEBSITE

Yes, that’s a Philly cheesesteak. No, you haven’t accidentally stumbled into a generic sandwich chain. This welcoming Oxon Hill spot from the Charleys people thoughtfully elevates a familiar fast-food staple into something more satisfying and memorable. Lemon pepper lends the bone-in chicken wings a surprising citrus zing, and a side of crispy golden fries completes the whole experience.
America’s Best Wings | Indian Head Hwy
$ | (301) 749-9464 | WEBSITE

One of Oxon Hill’s top wing spots can be found at this reliable joint where you’ll never have to worry about parking. It’s nothing rare or inventive, just perfectly cooked wings in flavors like chipotle and honey BBQ. There’s nothing light about this food, but the Philly chicken steak comes with what seems like a mountain of fresh toppings to add a little zip.
Grace’s Mandarin
$$$ | (301) 839-3788 | WEBSITE

If you enjoy sushi, then the eggplant dish at Grace’s Mandarin—the similarly satisfying Chinese-American entrée served with savory sauce—deserves your attention. There’s no better place for it than this Oxon Hill restaurant, but enjoying it at its best does require a little timing. Grace’s Mandarin offers outdoor seating, but the eggplant truly shines when the weather is nice—and that too not every evening.
In other words, securing a plate of the tender eggplant (perfectly cooked, under a glossy glaze), is basically like winning the dinner lottery. It’s worth ordering. The restaurant features authentic Chinese decor, and this is the most memorable version we’ve tried anywhere.
Good Luck Carryout
$ | (301) 839-1688 | WEBSITE

The sign says it’s a carryout, but we’re not convinced. When we close our eyes, we can still taste those perfect honey wings from Good Luck Carryout on Oxon Hill Road. Pure, nostalgic comfort food at about $12 for a generous order, served quickly from a no-frills counter in a simple storefront with bright fluorescent lighting. Despite the delicious food, we felt rushed by an older Asian lady who seemed impatient, and a young lady was impolite on the phone, leaving us confused without a receipt.
Still, those wings earn their perfect 10/10 rating.
Memphis Q

Right in the heart of Oxon Hill, you’ll find Memphis Q, a standout destination where a full evening’s entertainment costs less than a typical night out elsewhere. Do as the regulars do and try the variety of food options, like the ones that cater to all tastes. The service is consistently excellent, the cleanliness is top-notch, and the casino games alone could make you a repeat visitor.
The theater is well-maintained, the suites are comfortable, and the overall experience leaves many planning to return for future visits.
Portum Restaurant and Lounge
$$ | (301) 485-0313 | WEBSITE

All the brunch dishes at this Oxon Hill favorite—a lively spot with jazz since opening—are delicious, but we had an especially memorable crab cakes sandwich recently. It features fresh Maryland crab cakes, a perfectly toasted brioche bun, crisp lettuce, and a zesty remoulade sauce, all stacked high like a tower, on the plate. The buttery hollandaise on the eggs benny is just as rich as promised.
National Market
$ | (844) 346-4664 | WEBSITE

At MGM National Harbor—where the slot machines chime constantly, and there’s always a chance of spotting a celebrity—one of the best meals around is quite possibly the most straightforward and satisfying: It’s the steak and eggs at Bread and Butter, a hotel staple since the property opened. Seasoned expertly and cooked perfectly, the classic breakfast is just $24—and it pairs beautifully with a few sips of spicy Bloody Mary or fresh orange juice from the bar.
It’s a perfectly indulgent $30 start that makes most hotel breakfasts seem underwhelming.
Tom’s Watch Bar

The team at Tom’s Watch Bar are masters of the sports bar experience—the lively atmosphere with those larger doors bringing in nearby sounds makes for excellent viewing. But we might like the pickle-brine chicken tenders even better because of their tangy crunch. They’re perfectly portioned, crispy and savory, and pair wonderfully with a cold beer poured by Kyana.
