West Point, Mississippi – what are you? Are you a sleepy Southern town or a culinary awakening? Are you clinging to tradition or stirring a new pot of flavor? Has the food scene quietly evolved while we weren’t looking? (We see you, Main Street.) Love it or question it, West Point’s dining table is set. And these ten spots will show you exactly what’s on the menu.
The Confectionary At Elmview

The historic home setting might seem unusual for a bakery. But trust me and make the trip to The Confectionary At Elmview. You won’t feel out of place. This wonderful bakery draws inspiration from classic Southern baking, and feels like it’s doing something special. It’s charming, mostly delicious, and it gives us weirdly strong feelings about raspberry and cream cheese pastries. Unlike its location in West Point, this beautiful, tight-knit space is genuinely welcoming.
Zaxby’s Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings
$ | (662) 391-4303 | WEBSITE

Just when we thought fast food in West Point had settled into predictable territory, one of the area’s most reliable—and satisfying—chicken joints reminded us why it tops the list. The crispy, golden-brown chicken fingers and perfectly sauced buffalo wings coming out of Zaxby’s bustling kitchen will do much more than satisfy a craving—say, make you reconsider ever ordering from anywhere else.
It’s a professional, welcoming, good-times spot, and may the odds of getting your large catering order in on time be ever in your favor.
Pantry 45
$ | (662) 494-0150 | WEBSITE

A visit to Pantry 45 is worthwhile for this friendly establishment’s outstanding carrot cake alone. Moist, dense, and packed with walnuts—it’s the best example in north Mississippi. Cake aside, Pantry 45 is an expert in comforting flavors and atmosphere. Groups of families and regulars fill the cute space to enjoy hamburger specials with fresh toppings and turn to lunch casseroles and sandwiches for satisfaction.
There’s a display too, usually lined with Amish and Mennonite products, and perfect for exploring the reasonably priced baked goods and ice cream.
Jubilations Cheesecake
$ | (662) 328-9210 | WEBSITE

For some of the best cheesecake in West Point, Jubilations Cheesecake should be high on your list. It’s usually packed with families and hungry college students, most of whom have been coming here for years, and the bakery’s dining area has the feel of a cozy neighborhood spot. We love the pineapple cheesecake and the pina colada cheesecake is also very good, but the strawberry cake with its fresh fruit topping is what we return for.
Stafford’s Big Burger
$ | (662) 494-5820 | WEBSITE

Stafford’s Big Burger is a wonderful and welcoming American restaurant, just off West Point’s main drag, on a quiet side street. Pull into the lot and step into this cheerful spot filled with happy families and regulars. The menu, everything from burgers to fries to milkshakes and shakes, is all delicious, but the feeling of comfort is a huge part of Stafford’s appeal.
La Fiesta Brava (Los Pozos)
$ | (662) 495-2484 | WEBSITE

La Fiesta Brava’s unassuming spot in West Point is bustling with every kind of customer: from solo diners tucked into booths diving into plates, to families and regulars catching up over familiar favorites at close-set tables. Authentic Mexican classics, rather than trendy fusion, are the main event, though tacos and burritos are of course still on the menu. But the real stars of the show are the house specialties.
Grabbing a seat here with a plate of chile relleno and a steaming bowl of arroz con pollo is the move.
Hardee’s
$ | (662) 494-0440 | WEBSITE

The drive-thru lane at Hardee’s is the busiest spot for keto seekers in West Point. But there’s more to this fast-food joint than just carb-conscious convenience. Steak biscuits arrive with a flavor punchier than the collective energy of the lunch rush (intense), keto-friendly breakfast options demand immediate appreciation from the low-carb crowd, and everyone leaves feeling satisfied. This is less dining area and more gathering of Mississippi’s most determined dieters.
Yamato Japanese steak house
$ | (662) 605-5111 | WEBSITE

This unassuming Japanese steakhouse offers one of West Point’s best lunchtime deals: vegetable hibachi with house salad, edamame, and a lemon roll for $12. Keep in mind that this is primarily a dinner spot—with efficient service for large groups and individual checks—and at lunch it’s mostly takeout. You can still get food to go in the evening, but it costs a little more after 2:30pm.
Jubilations Coffee House
$ | (662) 328-9210 | WEBSITE

This little corner coffee house is the kind of place where morning coffees turn into leisurely afternoons, and bacon biscuits are happily followed by gloriously crumbly praline scones. There are plenty of cozy nooks, relaxed conversations, and friendly smiles and, although it’s a cozy cafe, this is a West Point spot you can imagine bringing almost anyone to. Be it friends, family, colleagues, or a confusing mixture of all three.
Connie’s Chicken

From the team behind West Point’s best-kept secrets, Connie’s Chicken is a certified ‘must-visit’. This chicken spot is built for people who say “let’s just get the whole spread” to mask their incurable comfort-food craving. Chicken spins through the fryer like it’s on a conveyor, returning crispy, juicy, and begging to be dunked in homemade ranch or Connie’s signature sauce, and the sides are hearty and full of flavor.
The room hits ‘cozy neighborhood joint’ by lunchtime, and 70% of customers look like they’re either regulars who know Jill by name, or just discovered this hidden gem and came here to celebrate with a basket of hot, fresh, fantastic chicken.
