The rooftop spot in Coral Gables is lively, vibrant, and more relaxed than a breezy, clear evening in Miami. It also happens to offer a great view and is one of our favorite places to dine, thanks to excellent corn ribs, delicious empanadas, a fun rooftop setting, and plenty of spread out seating. Before you plan a night out here, know that Cebada Rooftop can get busy and service might have occasional waits.
So try to come during off-peak times or post up at the bar, which is also never a bad idea.
Islas del caribe Restaurante

Contrary to what you might expect from the name, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is not just about steak. You won’t find only red meat, heavy sauces, or dark wood paneling inside. What Perry’s is is a great gem in the heart of Coral Gables, and one that will work the next time you’re celebrating a special occasion or just having a night out with friends and family.
This place is big, busy, and “lively” in the sense that you can count on the volume level being quite loud, making conversation challenging at times. So try to grab a seat in the main dining area (probably the most comfortable thing here), and order from a menu of exceptional dishes like the pork chop, praised as the best on the planet, or the salmon, cooked to perfection, tender, and juicy.
The service is superb, with waiters like Joyci and Pablo providing great suggestions, though during busy times, some attention to detail might be lacking. Still, don’t miss the bananas foster made at the table, which remains a highlight of the meal.
Calista Greek Seafood Taverna

At Calista Greek Seafood Taverna, you’ll constantly overhear groups debating whether to order the Pink Snapper or the branzino, planning their next visit, and, if the meal is going particularly well, requesting extra pita for the delicious spreads. This is Coral Gables’ requisite Greek seafood spot, thanks to the small but cute interior with its authentic Mediterranean feel, ample seating on the large yet cozy outdoor terrace, and nice selection of wines.
It’s easy to stay for hours and enjoy the fun atmosphere with friendly service, or you can share several appetizers and leave after an hour if you’re just stopping by for a taste of what might be the best Greek food in Miami.
MesaMar Seafood Table

For something more polished and professional (but nottoostuffy), do a business lunch at MesaMar Seafood Table. The elegant dining room in Coral Gables is warmly lit by soft overheads and brass fixtures, and dresses up their spacious square tables in crisp white linen. It’s also quiet enough that you’ll most likely avoid having to lean in and ask, “Could you repeat that?” over and over again—that is, until theafter-workcrowd comes in and adds a steady hum.
But even then, MesaMar is still as composed as they come.
NOMA Beach at Redfish

This modern outpost gets packed at peak hours (around sunset), but if you can score one of their outdoor bar seats, you’re set for hours-long relaxation where you can stare deeply into Biscayne Bay’s breathtaking views.
La Pata Gorda

The decor is unique for a one-of-a-kind experience, and the owner’s warm welcome adds to the charm. Yes, parking might be tricky with a fee, and prices run a bit higher, but the quality and presentation make it well worth it. The restaurant never disappoints and makes you want to bring family and friends back.
