Whether you’re cheering on the home team or just craving wings and a cold one, a great sports bar is essential. That’s why we’ve scouted Manassas for the top spots. From classic pub grub and big screens to craft beers and game-day specials, here are the best sports bars in town.
Buffalo Wild Wings
$ | (703) 335-2672 | WEBSITE

After the sports bar scene in Manassas got a bit predictable a while back, Buffalo Wild Wings opened and has thankfully managed to stay popular. They have great signature flavors (like the fiery Mango Habanero or garlicky Spicy Garlic), but our favorite is their Nashville Chicken Sandwich. The chicken is crispy without being greasy, and it comes with just the right amount of kick. We can’t visit here without ordering one.
Old Towne Sports Pub
$ | (703) 369-1782 | WEBSITE

There is nothing—we repeat nothing—not to love about Old Towne Sports Pub in Manassas. Not only is the food delicious, but this place is incredibly likable—you get greeted by friendly staff when you walk in and they pour solid drinks at great beer prices. Everything is great—from the breakfast burrito and drippy tacos to the buffalo chicken wrap that some have called the best they’ve had in a while.
The atmosphere is perfect for sports enthusiasts, with plenty of TVs and a lively crowd on game days. In conclusion, cancel out the rest of your evening and dedicate it to this pub.
Mariscos El Malecon
$$ | (571) 208-1483 | WEBSITE

Mariscos El Malecon is another spot with a short menu of excellent Mexican seafood, and our favorite happens to be their perfectly tender grilled octopus. They also make a fantastic margarita, and you should probably get both. And while there was a time when the wait for this place would literally stretch past an hour (and run out of the best dishes before you got a table), at least now you can enjoy the live music on Saturday nights while you dine.
Velocity Wings – Bristow
$$ | (703) 369-2800 | WEBSITE

Velocity Wings is known for its wings, which are available all the time. This is great news, not just because they’re delicious, but because you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to enjoy them. The straightforward menu, friendly staff like bartender Anna, and the manager’s active presence make it a consistently enjoyable spot for any gathering.
Velocity Wings – Manassas
$ | (703) 420-8145 | WEBSITE

This Manassas sports bar makes some of the best wings in the area, including boneless. Their Wednesday half-off boneless wings are one of the only good things to come out of a workweek, and the $1 bone-in wings are another reason for us to be there at 5pm grabbing a table. The fried pickles are crispy the way you expect a pickle to be, tangy the way you hope a fried snack is, and have a crunchy batter with a zesty dipping sauce.
All of that is delicious, but one of the best components is the bean burger without cheese, which is satisfying with its hearty texture.
Hooters
$$ | (703) 378-7426 | WEBSITE

This Chantilly spot is part of a national chain with locations all over the country. Chains can be hit-or-miss, but this place’s wings platter and fish sandwich are great. Hooters’ friendly service creates a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere with consistently good food. They have many options to choose from, but the burger and Caramel Fudge Cheesecake are the best. So go for the juicy burger, wings platter, or that perfect cheesecake.
Crafthouse Fairfax
$$ | (703) 825-1811 | WEBSITE

Crafthouse Fairfax pours excellent beers, serves solid bar food, offers friendly service—you get the idea. They know what they’re doing when it comes to all things social, so it’s no surprise that this Manassas sports bar also makes great wings. For classic bar bites, order the loaded tater tots, but the best are the shrimp tacos, which are flavorful and perfectly satisfying.
There’s usually only a handful of specials, but you can expect things like trivia nights, happy hour deals, and outdoor patio seating topped with a helpful server like Luke or Shannon.
Glory Days Grill
$ | (703) 361-9040 | WEBSITE

Chicken wings are the secret to this Manassas spot’s fun and friendly neighborhood charm. So if you can’t decide between dry rubs or special sauces, this hits a happy medium. Plus, Glory Days Grill has tons of great options like perfectly cooked steak, homemade blue cheese, and our favorite: the Mother’s Day special menu with hints of professional service and a welcoming atmosphere drizzle.
Jimbo’s Grill
$$ | (571) 248-0752 | WEBSITE

You might know Jimbo’s Grill primarily as the spot that serves those bone-in buffalo wings everyone keeps talking about. And while that is a perfectly valid thing to order here, if you’re going to pair a protein with your hand-cut French fries, we’re fans of their Chicken Oranganato. They also make a great wedge salad, and some great home-made potato chips, too.
