Every Oxon Hill local knows the frantic search for the perfect game-day perch. It’s a ritual of remote-waving, wing-splitting, and last-minute touchdown cheers. But we’ve scouted the turf so you don’t have to—from raucous beer halls to cozy taverns with crystal-clear screens. Here are the nine spots where every play feels personal.
Felt

I alternate between two spots before heading to a game at FedExField—either Felt or The Greene Turtle. Felt, it’s such an Oxon Hill staple, and I love that their lounge has a DJ booth. The music comes out really nicely. Also, it’s not an overly formal venue, but the atmosphere feels cool and welcoming, so it’s more relaxed. After my friend (also a sports fan) celebrated his team’s big win, we went with both of our crews.
We grabbed drinks in the lounge and it was really fun—it’s really nice to have that vibe memorialized.
Harbor Social

They also have free drinks for Gaylord guests here—automatic 10/10. You’re just doing the most. It’s one of my favorite spots in the area. We go there for a lot of group gatherings. This past weekend, we went with my friends, and they were just super attentive about everything, when it came to the games, the atmosphere, and the space as well. They walked around and checked on all the tables, and it felt nice to feel cared for both in the games and at the bar. I believe they have multiple staff.
When you walk in, there are multiple game areas, nothing too fancy, but it’s clean and the layout is spacious.
Proper 21 K Street

I love Proper 21 K Street so much. I love that it’s right in the heart of Oxon Hill and it’s just as energetic but feels totally welcoming. The atmosphere is just so lively and so fun and intentional, and that translates into the happy hour. They have the best specials—it’s different every night. They’ve got a great selection of drinks as well.
Topgolf

They have a really fun atmosphere, a lively sports bar vibe with upgraded screens and all the different games. And the service is nice. It’s a really seamless transition from the golf bays to the couches. And I love the breakfast too. Everything is so satisfying, and they’re also very accommodating. I can bring my kids, and they can enjoy most things like the Angry Birds golf. Everything is just really enjoyable.
Tom’s Watch Bar
$$ | (202) 350-0124 | WEBSITE

Starting with the atmosphere, it’s my favorite sports bar in Oxon Hill. Whenever I have friends over for game day I always take them there. They have the best chicken wings in the area—my buddies always say they’re just as good as the ones downtown, they’re so crispy and saucy and delicious. But I really like that their parking is plentiful especially after dark, and they also have a kid-friendly vibe. It’s so convenient when you’re out with family and you want to catch the game.
Bulldog

The vibe is really chill. The bar and seating just flow together in such a relaxed way, I feel like every happy hour I’ve spent there has been really enjoyable. Their bartender Corrin has that welcoming presence, which I really appreciate as well. It’s a sports bar, it’s so comfortable. They’ve got that mac n cheese on the menu…clearly, I like mac n cheese.
BetMGM Sportsbook & Lounge
$$$ | (844) 646-6847 | WEBSITE

BetMGM Sportsbook & Lounge is probably my favorite spot in Oxon Hill. I just love sports bars so much, and theirs is the best. And I love that the atmosphere inside is just as lively as the action on the screens. The seating includes recliners and bar stools, and they have tables both near the bar and further back. I also love that if you’re finishing up your fried shrimp and you just want to catch the game without moving from your seat, you can just glance up at one of the many screens.
The Brass Tap
$$ | (301) 965-9319 | WEBSITE

If you want people to post about your sports bar, you need to be doing something different, and the weekend DJ is the only reason why I went there in the first place. I feel like it’s a really smart vibe tactic. I just got a beer—I literally just went to try the brisket tacos. They’re the most flavorful tacos in the world, I wish there were more sports bars that served seasonal specialties like that. It honestly feels like you’re stepping into a lively dining adventure.
Next time, I’m gonna order some lemon pepper wings. They’re so tasty—a winner.
TAP Sports Bar
$$ | (301) 971-6040 | WEBSITE

TAP Sports Bar is located in the MGM casino, which obviously I love. But I really love their outdoor seating because they have plenty of big screens. I feel like the more I’ve been getting into watching sports with friends and dealing with all of that, if indoor seating is available, then why aren’t outdoor screens standard? They’re both equally as needed. It’s not like we’re choosing to watch games—we don’t have a choice.
When I see that a sports bar has outdoor screens, it makes me more inclined to go back to the business, because I know that the people in charge are thinking about everyone.
